The 10th edition of the L’Afrique Fashion Fest will be hosted across three cities—Port Harcourt, Lagos and London—in July, September and November 2026.
The festival, which celebrates African creativity, culture and artistry, has drawn participation from countries including Ghana, Cameroon and Benin Republic since its launch nine years ago.
Speaking at a press briefing in Port Harcourt, Chief Executive Officer of L’Afrique Fashion Fest, Emmer Schneider, said this year’s theme, “Beyond Borders,” is aimed at taking the brand to the global stage.
He noted that while the event has been held in Port Harcourt for nine consecutive editions, the 10th edition marks a strategic expansion.
“For this edition, we are taking it to three cities… it is a good opportunity for L’Afrique to go international,” Schneider said.
He highlighted the platform’s impact over the years, including empowering designers and models, creating employment, and providing visibility through runway shows, media exposure and e-commerce opportunities.
Schneider also noted that models are paid for their participation and that the event has helped many gain access to international runways.
Co-Director, Anita Okoi, said the decision to expand beyond Port Harcourt was driven by popular demand and the need to position the brand within the global fashion market.
She added that the expansion would foster collaboration between designers across different cities and countries while strengthening Africa’s presence in the global fashion industry.
Also speaking, Lead Designer, Jasmine Afrik, described the platform as highly competitive and encouraged broader participation, including young designers, to help build the future of the industry.
Organisers said the event will also be broadcast live in French, with opportunities for sponsors to showcase their brands to a wider international audience.
