saraki-urges-kwara-residents-to-participate-in-ongoing-voter-registration

Former Senate President and Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Reconciliation Committee, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki at the weekend said that, the ongoing voters registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) in the country remain a powerful tool to shape the future of the state and the nation.

Speaking in Ilorin on the sideline on the meeting with party leaders, stakeholders, youths, and women from across Kwara during the Expanded PDP State caucus meeting held at his Ilorin GRA, Saraki however tasked the people of the state to come out en masse and participating in the voters registration exercise in the state.

Saraki said, “Our conversations kept returning to one critical point: the ongoing INEC voter registration exercise,”

Saraki said. “I cannot overemphasise this — registering to vote is the single most powerful tool we have to shape the future of our state and our nation.

“Every new registration and every updated card is a voice secured for tomorrow.”

He expressed gratitude to PDP members for maintaining peace and unity during the ongoing congresses at the ward, local government, and state levels but stressed that true progress would only come when such unity is matched with deliberate action.

“That action,” Saraki emphasized, “begins with registering to vote.”

Saraki therefore said that the party would continue to remain stronger in the state and the nation in general so as to provide good leadership in the future elections in the country.
