PDP NEC Confirms Damagum as Acting National Chairman

PDP NEC meeting in Abuja reaffirms Umar Iliya Damagum as acting national chairman, continuing role after Ayu’s suspension.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed Umar Iliya Damagum as its acting national chairman following a resolution taken on Monday during the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at its headquarters in Abuja.

Damagum has held the position since March 2023, when he stepped in after the suspension of Iyorchia Ayu, a decision later upheld by the court. Before his elevation, Damagum served as the party’s national deputy chairman (North).
