Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has won the 2024–25 European Golden Boot, capping off a remarkable debut season with the Spanish giants.
Mbappé secured the award after scoring 31 goals in 34 La Liga matches, earning 62 points to finish ahead of rivals Mohamed Salah and Viktor Gyökeres. The honour was presented at a ceremony held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadiumin Madrid.
During the event, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez lauded the French star for his outstanding season, describing his 44 goals across all competitions as a landmark achievement and noting that Mbappé’s win marked Real Madrid’s first Golden Shoe since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2010–11.
Mbappé expressed gratitude to his teammates, the club, and fans for their unwavering support.
He said: “My first Ballon d’Or. An honour to win this first one and be recognized as the top scorer in Europe. Many thanks to all my teammates and everyone at @realmadrid for helping me every day to bring out my best version. Nothing would be possible without you by my side.”
Mbappé also took a moment to acknowledge the fans, adding: “And finally, I want to say thanks to all the Madridistas who have given me so much love from the very beginning. See you tomorrow at the Bernabéu!! ¡HalaMadrid!”
The 26-year-old’s latest accolade adds to a growing list of achievements since joining Real Madrid, cementing his status as one of the most prolific forwards in world football.
