Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, Secretary to the Ondo State Government and son of Reuben Fasoranti, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Ondo Central Senatorial seat, pledging to deliver people-focused representation and practical governance.
Fasoranti, in a statement announcing his ambition, said his decision to join the race was driven by “a deep sense of responsibility” and a longstanding commitment to public service.
“I hereby formally express my interest to contest for the position of Senator representing the good people of Ondo Central Senatorial District,” he said, adding that his aspiration is rooted in “an unwavering belief in the immense potential of our people.”
The medical doctor-turned-administrator noted that his over three decades of experience in the health sector have shaped his understanding of leadership and service.
According to him, “true leadership is anchored on compassion, discipline, and the ability to respond to the real needs of the people.”
Fasoranti highlighted his career trajectory, including his years at the State House Medical Centre in Abuja, where he rose to the directorate cadre before retiring in 2024, as well as his subsequent role as Ondo SSG.
“These experiences have strengthened my capacity to contribute meaningfully to national development, while ensuring that the voices of Ondo Central are effectively represented,” he stated.
The senatorial hopeful stressed his commitment to advancing inclusive governance, noting that his ambition is driven by the need to promote people-centred representation.
“I am motivated by the desire to promote people-centric representation and to contribute to the consolidation of the dividends of democracy across our communities. Governance must be practical, inclusive, and impactful—touching lives in tangible ways and creating opportunities for growth and development.”
Fasoranti also pointed to his involvement in humanitarian and professional initiatives as evidence of his dedication to societal development, adding that he remains guided by “values of humility, integrity, and dedication.”
Outlining his vision, he said his goal is “to provide purposeful representation, to listen to the aspirations of our people, and to translate those aspirations into meaningful action at the national level.”
He called on residents of Ondo West, Ondo East, Ifedore, Akure South, Akure North, and Idanre local government areas to support his candidacy.
“I humbly seek the support, trust, and prayers of the good people… as we work together towards a future of shared progress and prosperity,” he said.
