eno-hails-davido-for-kicking-off-5ive-alive-nigerian-tour-in-akwa-ibom

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has expressed pride and appreciation after music superstar Davido chose the state to launch the Nigerian leg of his 5ive Alive world tour.

The Grammy-nominated artiste thrilled thousands of fans at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday night, performing hit songs from his latest album to mark the start of his Nigerian tour.

In a post shared on X on Monday, Governor Eno said Davido’s decision to begin the tour in Akwa Ibom was a recognition of the state’s peaceful atmosphere, hospitality, and modern infrastructure.

“Last night, we hosted music icon @davido here in Akwa Ibom, and he made history by choosing our State as the first stop in Nigeria for his global tour,” Eno wrote.
“He said Akwa Ibom stood out because of our world-class facilities, peace, and hospitality, describing everything about our State as beautiful.”

The governor noted that the choice of Akwa Ibom aligns with his administration’s efforts to promote the state as a leading destination for entertainment, tourism, and investment.

“I appreciate Davido for recognising our efforts to make Akwa Ibom a youth-friendly and tourism-driven State,” he added. “His success story inspires our young people to believe that with commitment and consistency, their dreams are possible.”

Governor Eno also reaffirmed that the state remains open and ready to host more national and international events, stressing that the conducive environment has made Akwa Ibom a preferred location for concerts and corporate gatherings.

“Akwa Ibom is open, peaceful, and ready, not just for entertainment, but for investment and growth,” he said.

Davido’s 5ive Alive Nigerian tour will continue in Adamawa on October 29, Enugu on November 1, and Ibadan on November 9, before concluding in Lagos on December 25.

The Akwa Ibom concert marks Davido’s first major appearance in the South-South region since the release of 5ive, which has topped streaming charts across Africa.
