The Benue State House of Assembly has suspended its immediate past Speaker, Aondona Dajoh, for three months over allegations of misleading members.
The motion for his suspension was moved on Tuesday by Terna Shimawua and seconded by James Umoru, both lawmakers who had earlier been suspended by Dajoh before his resignation.
Presiding over plenary, the new Speaker, Alfred Emberga, also led the confirmation of controversial nominee, Associate Professor Ornguga, alongside other candidates previously rejected by the House.
In a separate decision, lawmakers lifted the suspension of the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and two other officials.
