The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has announced the dissolution of the Ministry of Niger Delta and the Ministry of Sports Development.
The Responsibilities of the Sports Ministry will now be handled by the National Sports Commission (NSC), as per the FEC’s directive.
These decisions were made during the FEC’s meeting held at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday and made public by the special adviser to the president on Information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga via his tweet on Wednesday.
He said “A newly established Ministry of Regional Development will oversee all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), North West Development Commission (NWDC), South West Development Commission (SWDC), and North East Development Commission (NEDC).”
In addition, the FEC, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, has approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.
