2027:-apc-facing-challenges-in-kano,-says-doguwa

A member of the House of Representatives representing Tudun Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency, Alasan Doguwa, has admitted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is facing internal challenges in Kano State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing party supporters in Kano, Doguwa said that despite perceptions of calm within the party, there are pressing internal issues that require urgent attention.

“I’m being clear: there are pressing problems that require immediate attention,” he said.
The lawmaker warned that anyone underestimating the party’s internal challenges in Kano is mistaken.

“There is a problem and we should be the ones to solve it. I’m mentioning this not to boast, but because I can cite a typical example where we had a similar challenge. When we tackled it collectively, it’s now a thing of the past,” he added.

Doguwa stressed that acknowledging the problem is key to resolving it and positioning the party for victory.

“Anybody who does not admit there’s an existing problem in APC in Kano, and does not chart a course for solving it, is probably not ready to win the election,” he said.

He also disclosed that during a recent meeting with the state governor, Abba Yusuf, assurances were given on support for party members.

“In our last meeting with the state governor, he reassured us that he is going to fulfil all his obligations by supporting party faithful through empowerment programmes and many other initiatives we don’t even know about,” Doguwa said.

His comments came shortly after a meeting of Kano South lawmakers and stakeholders, led by Kawu Sumaila, in Abuja, where concerns were raised over the zone’s political trajectory and alleged neglect by the state government.

As part of reconciliation efforts within the Kano APC, Governor Abba Yusuf and former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, were reported to have met in Abuja to resolve issues that could affect the party’s chances in the 2027 elections.
