Nigeria’s Super Eagles will aim to secure another victory when they face Jordan in an international friendly match in Antalya, Turkey, on Tuesday.
Head Coach Eric Chelle expressed confidence in his team’s ability to build on their recent 2-1 win over Iran, secured through goals from Moses Simon and Akor Adams.
Despite the absence of defenders Semi Ajayi and Bruno Onyemaechi, Chelle remains optimistic about the squad’s chances, having continued preparations with the available players.
Jordan, known as Al-Nashama, arrive in strong form, having lost just one of their last five matches, including a narrow defeat to Morocco. The team has also recorded wins over Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Egypt, underlining their growing strength in international football.
Chelle is expected to make adjustments in defence, with Zaidu Sanusi likely to replace Onyemaechi, while Bright Osayi-Samuel retains his position at right back.
Midfielder Alex Iwobi is set to earn his 98th cap, partnering captain Wilfred Ndidi in midfield alongside options including Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Raphael Onyedika.
In attack, Simon could again feature prominently alongside Samuel Chukwueze, Ademola Lookman or Akor Adams, with Paul Onuachu, Chidera Ejuke, Philip Otele and Collins Yira Sor also available.
The Super Eagles remain unbeaten in regulation time in their last five matches, recording victories over Algeria, Mozambique and Iran, as well as a penalty shootout win over Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations third-place match.
Nigeria and Jordan have met twice at senior level, sharing honours, with Nigeria winning 2-0 in 2004 and Jordan securing a 1-0 victory in 2013.
Meanwhile, new invitee Emmanuel Fernandez expressed gratitude for his call-up, describing it as a major milestone in his career.
He said he was honoured to join a star-studded squad and highlighted his journey from college football to playing in Europe, including appearances in the UEFA Europa League.
