Head Coach Eric Chelle has invited team captain Wilfred Ndidi, midfield star Alex Iwobi, and forward Ademola Lookman in a 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly matches against Iran and Jordan.
The matches, initially scheduled to be played in Amman, Jordan, have now been relocated to Antalya, Turkey, following the outbreak of military conflict in the Middle East.
The Super Eagles will face Iran on March 27 at 4pm local time before taking on Jordan on March 31 at 8pm.
Chelle’s squad also includes key players such as goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defender Ola Aina Ajayi (Oluwasemilogo Ajayi), midfielder Frank Onyeka, and forwards Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Akor Adams, and Paul Onuachu.
Notably, Scotland-based defender Emmanuel Fernandez has earned his first call-up, alongside Germany-based forward Philip Otele and Belgium-based Collins Yira Sor, a former junior international.
Goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye, who plays in Greece, also returns to the national team setup.
The friendlies are expected to provide Chelle an opportunity to assess his squad depth and tactical options ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.
