The Federal Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ondo State’s development efforts as Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa unveiled a five-point policy agenda aimed at driving sustainable growth and inclusive governance.

Delivering President Bola Tinubu’s goodwill message at the grand celebration of Ondo State’s 50th anniversary in Akure, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, assured residents that the Federal Government would partner the state in harnessing its vast human and natural resources for national development.

The golden jubilee event, held at the Ondo State Sports Complex, attracted prominent dignitaries, including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, former Ondo State Governor Dr Olusegun Mimiko, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunusi, and other notable sons and daughters of the state.

According to Tinubu, the Renewed Hope Agenda remains focused on strengthening security, improving infrastructure, empowering communities and ensuring equitable development across Ondo State.

“The Federal Government under the Renewed Hope Agenda remains committed to supporting Ondo State in harnessing its opportunities, improving infrastructure, strengthening security and empowering communities, ensuring that every citizen benefits from growth and development,” the President said.

He commended the people of Ondo State for their democratic participation and resilience, noting that their conduct during recent elections reinforced Nigeria’s democratic values. Tinubu also urged the youth to embrace innovation and civic responsibility, describing them as key drivers of the next phase of the state’s development.

In his address, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the golden jubilee as both a celebration of history and a call to action, unveiling a five-point agenda centred on security of lives and property, economic diversification and value creation, infrastructural renewal and connectivity, human capital development, and transparent, accountable governance.

“Our administration is guided by a clear and unwavering conviction that development must be people-centred, inclusive and sustainable,” the governor said.

He paid tribute to the founding fathers and mothers of the state, as well as farmers, teachers, civil servants and youths whose sacrifices laid the foundation for Ondo State’s progress, charging young people to take ownership of shaping the next 50 years of the state’s history.
