Brazilian defender Thiago Silva is returning to European football after completing a move to FC Porto, according to a report shared on X by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The veteran centre back has signed a short term agreement with the Portuguese giants and is expected to play a key role in the club’s defensive setup under new head coach Francesco Farioli.
Romano added that the move was strongly backed by Porto president André Villas Boas, stating: “Agreement signed on short-term deal for Thiago, new centre back for Farioli and strongly wanted by André Villas-Boas.”
Under the terms of the deal, Thiago Silva will remain at FC Porto until June 2026, with the option to extend his stay for an additional year.
