Paris St Germain head coach Luis Enrique has undergone emergency surgery after suffering a fractured collarbone in a cycling accident on Friday.

In a statement released on X, the club confirmed that the Spaniard, who led PSG to the Champions League title last season, received immediate medical attention and was operated on following the incident.

“Following a cycling accident on Friday, Paris St Germain head coach Luis Enrique was treated by the emergency services and will undergo surgery for a fractured collarbone,” PSG said.

The statement added: “The club expresses its full support and wishes him a swift recovery. Further updates will be shared in due course.”

PSG, who recently defeated Tottenham in the UEFA Super Cup and have won their opening three Ligue 1 games, are set to face Lens on September 14.
