D’Tigress have booked a place in the semi-finals of the 2025 Women’s Afrobasket after overpowering Cameroon 83-47 on Thursday at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The win marks Nigeria’s sixth consecutive semi-final appearance in the tournament, a streak that began in 2013.
The defending champions made a statement from the opening whistle, dominating the first quarter 21-9. They maintained control into halftime with a 41-29 lead.
The third quarter further exposed the gulf in class as D’Tigress outscored the Cameroonians 25-2, turning the contest into a one-sided affair. The final quarter offered little resistance from Cameroon as Nigeria closed out the game with a 36-point margin.
Amy Okoronkwo led the scoring with 18 points, while Victoria Balogun and Nicole Enabosi added 12 points each.
Nigeria will now face Senegal in Saturday’s semi-final clash as they continue their pursuit of a fifth consecutive Women’s Afrobasket title.
